Just as the recession may be easing and we need to invest in innovation and education, and while the next billion rise from their beds better educated, harder working, and probably earlier than we are prepared to, we go and do this…

I know the UK (as well as most other western economies) are dragging huge deficits, but this belief that business investment will cover the shortfall in funds plainly goes against market logic. If you were a manufacturing (and now increasingly knowledge-based) multinational, where you you put your money? The cheaper, harder working, and smarter folk I fear, are beyond these green shores.
