That’s ‘cheese’ in Slovenian, or more accurately the fifth SIRikt2011 conference 13 –16 April 2011 in Kranjska Gora, a charming ski resort at the foot of the Julian Alpes in the north west of the country.

Great people, great ideas and a refreshing edginess and skepticism to the ‘silver bullet’ of ICT in education. Amongst the highlights were Tim Rylands (teacher, eccentric, genius motivator of his audience) talking about free apps in education, Nives Kreuh’s excellent insightful and at times robust chairing, and Tomaz Skulj discussing the appropriate use of ICT and how important motivation and focus is in introducing technologies to schools.

I was there to appear on a panel to discuss e-materials development strategy and evaluation and facilitate 6 totally awesome students make a series of podcasts. Big props to Kristina, Matic, Helena, Vid, Primoz and Zala… you are complete stars!
